One day, I 'forgot' about all the germs that come down with the presents (downloads) and skipped the extra scanning (usually VirusTotal) and suddenly found myself with a non responding computer! I tried Microsoft virus remover tool (it wouldn't even allow me to open start / settings to use my regular antivirus!) but after 15 hours it was up to nowhere. I don't know about the company itself and probably no antivirus will be affective enough against the growing sins of the generation, but for me, it was a miracle I downloaded at some point their virus removal tool (free) - which I was 'going to put onto a stick for just in case' but didn't manage to. ![]() Virus removal tool saved my computer in minutes! ![]() We are looking to move to another security vendor, which is sad, but we have had enough of Sophos. We have been mis-sold Sophos Firewall products with limited numbers of firmware updates - For a security product this is madness. The logging of support tickets is quick, and the initial response is quick, however it takes days to get through their Sophos first line support to someone who understands the problem and knows what they are doing to investigate! In the last couple of years Sophos have removed their Account Managers, so the generic resellers you deal with when you renew or look to buy new products do not know Sophos products. ![]() We often find logging support requests with Sophos painful. Now it seems support has been moved elsewhere and there is a language barrier to deal with along with inexperience and lack of knowledge with the Sophos products. We are in the UK and support was local geographic regions.
